Hi Macropod,
1. I cleared Temp folder, most deleted but a few folders and files could not be deleted. I still get error. 2. I repaired Office, but still get error, but prior to error at top it says "Microsoft Word (Not Responding) 3. In Safe mode, error still occurs. 4. Not sure how to determine if font is "errant". I know there are 4 new fonts, in terms of date stamps, if that helps. 14/06/2017 05:30 AM 26,040 GlobalMonospace.CompositeFont 14/06/2017 05:30 AM 26,489 GlobalSansSerif.CompositeFont 14/06/2017 05:30 AM 29,779 GlobalSerif.CompositeFont 14/06/2017 05:30 AM 43,318 GlobalUserInterface.CompositeFont I can't delete any of these fonts. They are not hidden. Per chance I installed Google Chrome same day. 5. I contacted Brother, and they provided latest drivers. Still the error happens. 6. When I try to run sfc /scannow, I get a message "You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility." But when I go to Control Panel, User Accounts, it says I am "Local Account Administrator" 7. Someone suggested if Repair Office doesn't help, then Reinstall won't either. 8. I bought a new PC, and error still happens. So reinstalling Windows and all Apps is surely unlikely to work, and is long process. One possibility is I have a lot of DOC's (vs DOCX) from Word 2003. They all open ok, but is it possible that opening them, may cause Print error later? Any help much appreciated. Sid |

I'm still getting
"There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font." when printing docs... This is beyond frustrating, especially when I bought a new PC, and error still happens. I asked someone else who said: "I would say that the problem is with the printer driver." I’ve already had prior correspondence with Brother, who maintain that if I have latest drivers (which I have), that the problem is not at their end. How can I prove to Brother it is a printer driver error? Thanks |

Try attaching a different make & model printer and printing to that. If the problem goes away, it's a problem with the Brother printer driver.

I did testing on a Brother HL-2250DN (mono printer), and printing is fine through my Windows 10 PC... unlike our Brother MFC-9330CDW (colour) with the errors.
Also, my partner accesses the same MFC-9330CDW but she has an Apple Macbook Pro, and has never had any problems printing documents. So not sure what proof this provides to inform Brother. |

The implication of that is that the print driver you're using for the Brother MFC-9330CDW on your Win 10 PC is faulty. If uninstalling it, then reinstalling doesn't resolve the problem, the evidence suggests the driver - rather than your current installation - is faulty.

Hi Paul,
Again, I uninstalled the drivers (in fact the whole Brother software), reinstalled, and I still get the error. So you are quite sure this is a Brother MFC/printer problem? If this is a driver problem with Windows 10 (vs Apple), you would think Brother would have had many customer complaints by now? I am going to have an argument with Brother about this, because previously they were quite convinced it wasn't their problem. Thanks, Sid |

I've done a bit of a search about your issue. One possibility is that you may need to update the printer's firmware, not just the driver. See:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...0-6e1c50a3c463 There's also a mention of a Print&Scan utility at: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/stor...n/9wzdncrfj9xh Although it seems to be for Win 8, it may also work on Win 10.

I think I finally found cause of problem, although solution may be harder to find.
If it is memory problem, despite having heaps of RAM, especially on my new PC… how about I look at Task Manager. And there is Trend Micro, consuming high % of memory (and high % disk space, despite having heaps of disk space), so I disabled TM, and Word prints fine. That explains why Word didn't print even on a new PC... because I installed TM soon after buying PC. Word is also now fast loading docs, and PgDn is quicker, and quick to even process a Print (before when I click Print, it would be slow to process, with a “not responding” message, before the error message). So now I have to investigate TM problem…. Eg is it a bug, will TM admit to one etc. Thanks, Sid |
