I assume that you mean http://www.gmayor.com/SaveInTwoPlacesAddIn.htm?
This does not work with Documents (or backup locations) on OneDrive. It does however work happily with Word 2016 using local folders. I have updated the add-ins for Word and Excel to error trap this issue. However and more to the point, you asked about versioning. http://www.gmayor.com/SaveVersionsAdd-In.htm will work with One Drive and includes a version for Excel also.
