Default How to Paste Into Normal Format

Greetings, I cannot seem to be able to paste text copied from another program into Word, and have it appear as normal formatting. I have selected "keep text" in the "Advanced" options.

But it continues to paste in the original source formatting.

To be clear, I copy text from another program and paste it into Word. It then shows up in Word with the color, font size and all formatting of the original program. I want it to drop the source formatting and paste it into the normal format.

I can, of course, highlight the pasted text and click on "normal" and it will change it to the correct normal formatting, but isn't there a way to not have to highlight and click on normal?

Thank you.
