Since the most recent Word update I can't leave the ribbon open to Home so I can quickly change the font size or center a title. I have to open Home, click on what I want to do, the click again in the body to start retyping. Is there a way to leave Home open, click on what I want and then start typing? This is what I have done for years.

Yes.
In the top right of your Word window is a little drop-down to change ribbon display. 00 deleteme 2.png The screenshot above is from Word 2013 but 2016's controls are virtually identical. (Double-clicking on the Ribbon tab, if displayed, will do the same thing.) |

Thanks a lot. That is about the only item I didn't try.
