Recent Documents

Something keeps removing my Recently Edited Documents from the 'Recent Documents' list.

I checked Word Options/Advanced/Display/Recent Documents and it was still set to 17.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get word to retain the Recently edited documents in it's Recent Documents list?
