is there a way to make word open where you left off when you last saved? (usually at the last page). I have just transitioned from open office which did this so i would be surprised if the non-free program didn't |

Word doesn't have an option for opening the document at the last location viewed, but pressing Shift-F5 will take you to the place of your last edit.
