Thanks but that doesn't seem to work for me in Word 2013.

It appears that you have changed the font of the list itself, for example by selecting the bullets and changing their color. Once you have done that, the trick I suggested won't work. You will have to recreate the bullet list from start.

Create a new bulleted style with your "cleaned up" list and then apply it to text. I'm afraid that doing so will be a manual task, though. Then apply colors to the paragraph mark as required (once again a manual task).
