Default Find and replace symbols help

I want to replace character code 25A1 from Unicode (hex) to Wingdings 2:48 from Symbol (decimal). When I enter these items in the appropriate "Find and Replace" places, the "Replace with" item is always an unknown symbol. I suspect this is a font issue. So how do I replace character code 25A1 from Unicode (hex) with Wingdings 2:48 from Symbol (decimal)?

Try the following Find/Replace:

Type “Alt+9633” into the Find box.
Type “Alt+9133” into the Replace With box.

Thank you, Robert2. The correct symbol I want to replace appears when I type alt+9633, but when I type alt+9133 into the replace box, I get a "J"-like symbol, not the check box I want. Now the question is, what is the alt code for the symbol I want?

“Wingdings” and “Symbol” are 2 different fonts. “2:48” is not a code for any character. What kind of check box do you want? Could you please post a screen capture?

The blue-highlighted symbol is the one I want.

Unless I am mistaken, you need to use the following workaround:
1. In Word, bring up the “Symbol” dialog.
2. Locate, select, then paste the character that you want into the document window.
3. Close the “Symbol” dialog.
4. Select the pasted character in the document window (leave any paragraph mark out), and copy it to the Windows clipboard (Ctrl+C).
5. Type “Alt+9633” into the Find box.
6. Type “^c” (without the quote marks) into the Replace With box. Note that “^c” will paste the current clipboard contents.
7. Do your replacements.

Typing "^c" in the Replace With box gives me ^c.
