Templates using control functions
Can a Word 2010 template allow the use of control functions?
E.g., Select a word or phrase within a "not bolded" style > Ctrl-B ==> results in bolded word or phrase.

I do not understand your question.
You can certainly embed keyboard shortcuts in a template and they will work in any attached documents. Templates in Microsoft Word
