That happens in Word 2007 and later but not in Word 2003. It Word 2003, the Insert Page Number menu choice inserts a frame with the page number at the chosen location and will move other content out of the way if necessary.
Nevertheless, DBin needs to learn to use
Alt+Shift+P to insert a page number.
