Default Page 1 of 31

I already have drama scripts with 30-35 pages and a cover page. They are numbered but I would like them to say

Page x of y

Ok I have found this out but I have a cover page and the last page is 1 of 35. There are 34 pages PLUS a cover page so it should be 1 0f 34 to 34 of 34

See Cover Page Anomalies and How to control the page numbering in a Word document and Page Numbers in Word 2007-2013.

Page numbers in Word are Fields. To make this work in Word you could go to your cover page and start numbering at 0. I am not sure whether that will change the 35.

Otherwise, you can use calculation fields which will not work in a table of contents.

{ = {Page} - 1} and { = {NumPages} - 1}

If the number of pages is fixed, you could also always simply type in 34 rather than use a numpages field.

The braces must be created by Word in pairs (Ctrl+F9). You cannot simply type them. Read the links if problems.
