how to set equal space between all words?

Please tell me how to set equal space between all words which I suppose someone switched the spacing format of a document that I'm editing.

oh i just did align left and now it looks better.

Why would anyone want different spacing between words in a document - doesn't it look wrong?

It depends on how many words you have in a line, in part. I seldom use full justification. Like you, I prefer left-aligned/ragged right. It is generally much easier to read.

Fully justified text is how most content is published - just take a look at any book published in the last century. To get that, variable spacing is required.

You are, of course, correct. However, Word does not do as good a job at it as do book and magazine publishers. Publisher may do better, I do not know.
