Footnotes and source references are two very different things.
Typically the footnote should only appear once in the document although you can choose to cross refer to a footnote if you wish. If you want the same footnote to appear on multiple pages then you need to insert it a second time. Source references should appear once the document bibliography (in a similar way to endnotes). You can have multiple 'in text references' to the same source but the reference only gets one expanded version in the bibliography.
