Word file with embedded excel chart

We have received a manuscript with figures having emebedded excel chart.
In the attached file 'image.png' (screenshot taken from Word 2010), [cellRange] shows that the figure is linked to an excel file.

We have not received the excel file from client.

But there is no issue when the figure is viewed in Word 2016. What is the issue in Word 2010 and what options has to be set in order to view the figures exactly as in Word 2016.

Please provide a solution at the earliest.
