Sounds like you have a heading style applied to some pictures. Use the TOC to go to those pictures and make sure they are not part of a heading paragraph. If they are, type a return after the picture to make it a separate paragraph. Then apply a non-heading style such as Body Text to the paragraph that contains the picture. Refresh the entire table of contents and the picture should go away. Do this for each picture in the TOC.

Are you saying that pictures are being added into the TOC or that the TOC extends over multiple pages so that it wraps around pictures?
