Default Properties Panel not visible after upgrading to Office 2016

I have a Properties button on my quick access menu.
Prior to upgrading to Office 2016 this opened a properties panel above my document.

Now the button opens the File menu.
I added a Properties Sheet button but this is greyed out.
How can I see the properties panel (not the Advanced Properties dialog box)?
Thanks
John
