I created customized headings for a document. I'm trying to follow a format from an older document. The first sections are 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. Subsections are 1.01, 1.02....., 2.01, 2.02, and so on.
I am able to get MS Word to change the last numeral in each subsection. When switching from Section 1.0 to Section 2.0, I have to create a new heading. Now, the table of contents (TOC) does not recognize my custom headings. Plus, I cannot rename the custom headings to a name already set aside for the default styles. Seems as though the TOC only picks up the styles named Heading 1, Heading 2, etc. Any ideas for a fix that keeps my numbering style and allows TOC updates? Thank you. |
