I need to send a document to a client showing what has changed from a previous bid submission, using Track Changes. I am very happy to do this, but do not want to show them WHO in my organisation made the changes. I know that on the REVIEW tab I can select the Show Markup option and under 'Balloons' I can select 'Show All Revisions Inline' - which achieves the first part of what I want... However, I then want to *lock* the document in that state so that the client cannot revert to 'Show Revisions in Balloons' when they open it, and see the name of the individual(s) who made the changes. Is this possible?? Sorry if I've missed an option somewhere that achieves this... Thanks in advance for any help. I'm using Word 2013 on Windows 7. SD (Apologies if this has been covered before somewhere on the forum - I did search and couldn't find what I needed...) |

No, it is not practically possible to control how another views Track Changes. You can give them a pdf of the document marked up the way you want.

Thanks for the quick response - much appreciated. That was the only way I could see of doing it, too... However, client wants the Word doc as well as the PDF...

Save separately the revised version with all changes accepted. Use document compare. That will give a redlined document showing the changes, but will not show the date/time of the changes nor the author. Track Changes |

You can create a PDF of the document (with the display that you want) and send both the PDF and the original document to other reviewers, if that helps.
