Default redefining scope of somebody else's comment

I'm reviewing and updating a document where a colleague has used comments for input. Sometimes my updated text solves most of a problem, so that the comment – while it's still worth keeping – only applies to a smaller block of text.

example

Quote:
Class aptent taciti sociosqu ad litora torquent per conubia nostra, per inceptos himenaeos. Suspendisse lectus risus, auctor in semper a, imperdiet ut elit. Curabitur auctor lacus nec mollis vulputate. Donec non faucibus mauris. Suspendisse malesuada ac enim id commodo. Fusce eget sagittis nisl. Donec leo risus, mattis eu risus a, consectetur convallis metus.
  • vestibulum imperdiet ligula vitae dolor euismod
  • nec semper risus eleifend
  • proin laoreet libero sit amet nisl convallis viverra
  • fusce ullamcorper imperdiet velit quis blandit
In the original, all this text was highlighted and associated with a comment. I've rewritten the lead-in paragraph, and would like to redefine the comment highlight so it only covers the unordered list. Any tips?

You could cut the lead-in paragraph from the document, then paste it back in again - before the reduced comment range.

That seems to do the trick today … wonder how I missed it yesterday :-}

(but Thread Tools only give me "Show printable" and "Unsubscribe", so I haven't managed to mark the thread as Solved)
