I am currently linking information from an Excel Spreadsheet to a Word document through paste link. It is working fine. However, when I send the spreadsheet and word document to someone through email, they cannot update the field. Is there anyone to solve this issue? |

The link paths for LINK fields are absolute, meaning they'll only work at the destination if the filepath is exactly the same as on the system they were created on; otherwise, the path will need to be updated before it will work again. For a one-off exercise, the path updating can be done via File>Info>Edit Links. For documents with many links and /or are liable to be used on multiple computers, you can automate the process. For that, see the macro solution I posted at: http://windowssecrets.com/forums/sho...External-Files
