I have a number of Word 2003 documents with about 10 styles I created to format the documents. With Word 2003, it's very easy to display a list of styles and select a style to apply to the text. I now have a new laptop (Windows 10, Word 2016). My question is: When I open a Word 2003 document using Word 2016, what do I need to do to display the styles that exist in my document? (Currently, I see only a few styles that came with Word 2016.)

On the Ribbon's Home tab, click on the small arrow in the bottom right corner of the Styles panel to display the Styles dropdown (also accessed via press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S). From there, click on Options and, from the 'Select Styles to show' dropdown, choose 'In use'.

Paul,
That is exactly what I was trying to find and do. You saved me hours and hours of searching and work on styles. Thank you and best wishes with your projects. Walt |
