having looked at a previous post about Word freezing, I re-installed Word 2013 on my win-7-64-pro system only to find that my problem persists.
It is probably due to the fact that I am editing a document of 148,000 words. I am removing paragraph marks that are at the end of each line in this document. I am then inserting just the few paragraph marks, needed each page, to mark the paragraph ends. I am using a paragraph style with a first-line indent. What happens is that I'll hit the Enter key to insert a paragraph mark, but then Word freezes such that, although the cursor is still blinking at the start of the new paragraph, I am unable to move the mouse pointer on to the Word window, i.e., it has disappeared. About 45 seconds later, the fault clears and I am again able to continue until the fault appears again, say, 15 minutes later. I have tried things with a document of half the size, and the fault persists. |
