Default Problems with creating and saving word templates

Dear all,

I created a template in word, put pictures in the header and footer and saved everything as a template (.dotx).

Now when I want to open it again, this error message appears: "the file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents". By clicking on OK there appears another error message "Word found unreadable content in your file. Do you want to recover the contents of this document? If you trust the soruce of this document, click yes" - so I click yes, and the file can be opened.

However, this file is made for other employees, which might not click on all these buttons, but instead just leave it closed.

What did I do wrong?
Can somebody help me?

Thanks in advance.
