Default Wrong automatic date

Hi Paul, my Time & Date settings are correct, I date my diary entries daily, EG today in the form 2016-09-30, but on entering "2016", Word for Mac 2016 invariably offers the previous day's date, IE yesterday, 2016-09-29, unless I've closed Word & reopened it today.

Trouble is, closing & reopening Word is a long-winded procedure, at least it is on my late 2012 Mac Mini, taking much longer than just correcting the date manually.

I've noticed if you use Insert Date and Time, you get the correct date, as you do via some other convoluted ways where presumably the date is coming from somewhere that is on the correct date?

Is there anything else I can try to insert today's date correctly and speedily?

Thank you.
