You can blank everything but the File Button, but that does not save you any space and means you can't access the other Ribbon tabs. See below.
That is my rather extensive QAT with this setup. Note the FILE button is still there, taking up that vertical space. You also have the Title Bar with the
document name and your minimize/maximize and close buttons.
Again, with that, you cannot use the other tabs. They are not merely hidden, they are gone. That will make Word very difficult to use.
You can save as much space by simply minimizing the Ribbon.
