Default How to Set Gutter Margins Between Columns in a Table

Hi,

I've copied a 3 columned table into a new Word 2013 document. The program I copied from has nice space between each column, but Word has squashed it all together so that when I hide the table lines it just looks like a jumbled mess. Can someone please enlighten me how to create gutter margins in an existing table.

I found an option for cell margins, but that seems to create space on all sides. All I want is space in between. So the first column only needs space on the right. The middle needs space on both side and the right needs space on the left. Hope that makes sense.
