Exclamation Word 2007 problem (will not open)

I have Office Enterprise 2007 installed, running under Windows 7. Without any apparent reason Word will not open, that is the opening screen will briefly flash up, and the only other action is that I can view the open page from the task bar (in a very small window), indicating that the app has opened, but is not displayed on screen. All other Office Applications work normally. I have created a second user ID, and have found that the app will now work. In my original user ID I have administrative privileges, so there should be no reason for this malfunction. I have also run the repair function from the original install disc, to no avail. Also done HHD checks, Virus and Malware scans, no change. Any views on the subject would be most appreciated.
