Default Word will not open docx file - not enough memory

When I try to open a .docx file, the process fails. I get a message saying that my system does not have enough memory even though I have 32 gigs of RAM. The file has several images in it. It is too large to attach (1.1gig), but I can email it to anyone who is willing to help.

It must be a problem with my computer, but I have no idea how to fix it. Others who try to open the same file do not have this problem.

I am using Office 365.

Help will be warmly appreciated.

Mike
