please look at the attachment. you'll see a line and white space to the right of the text starting at about 18 on the ruler at the top. i just want a normal looking page. how can I get rid of this? what is the think to click?

Based on the horizontal ruler displayed, I believe that line is the edge of your paper. The white space is just that, white space. I assume that this does not print.

thank you. unfortunately, it does print, and actually it shrinks the font on the left as well so.

please see attachment of what it looks like printed. it shows on its side, but when vertical, this is what prints.


there must be some setting or something to click that just lets it be a regular looking page, but I can't seem to find it.

any ideas welcome, very much so.

It is likely that you have a Comment somewhere in your document.

If you want, you can attach a sample document showing the problem here. To do that, click on the Go Advanced button at the bottom of the window and then on the paperclip at the top of the window that appears. (Probably the same way you attached your screenshots.)
