Hi... I'm working on a document and want to refer to "Appendix B" in one of the chapters. Here are my needs:
1. only "appendix B" in text (right now, when fields are updated, the entire title of the appendix reappears). 2. "appendix" needs to remain lowercase. 3. "B" needs to remain uppercase. I'm used to doing the \*Lower switch on things like figures and tables, but those are numbers, so the second character isn't affected. I found this, but I'm not sure what setup needs to happen to be able to use it: { SEQ appendix \* ALPHABETIC } My current setup: I used the "caption builder" (for lack of a better word) to create the appendices' titles, thinking that would help with entering a cross-reference, but it does the same as when it is not done as a caption. (when entering the cross-reference, the only thing that generates something other than "0" is "Heading Text." I don't anticipate the appendices getting moved around, but I hate to manually type in "cross-references" lest things get moved! TIA! ![]() |
