![]() Is there a reason for not using one of Word's built-in Heading Styles for this, with the word 'Appendix' prefixed to the Heading level number (in alphabetic format, of course)?

I am using the same style for all chapters and appendices (my own as it is the format I'm required to use). But other than that, I don't know how that ties in to an in-text reference.

So I did the part suggested by Charles, however, my cross-reference is still capitalizing "Appendix"... my style manual mandates lowercase.
