Default Lost on Spanish characters on Word 2013

We have a user that had her computer replaced and reports that the new computer does not do for her in MS Word 2013 that her old computer did.

She reports that, after typing a paragraph on a flyer in English, she's supposed to also do it in Spanish.

When typing in Spanish, she claims the Word would AUTOMATICALLY insert the tildes over the letters (Senor would have the line over the n) and any letter in a word that has an accent - like the word, dia, would AUTOMATICALLY become dia with the accent over the i.

I have spend hours trying to figure this out and cannot find a way to make this happen for either the tildes nor the accents.

I'm >< this close to calling this woman a liar.

Can someone please shed light on this for me?

The second paragraph must be formatted to have the proofing language Spanish. This is best done in a Paragraph Style setting. Otherwise, the proofing language setting is on the Review Tab.

If she alternates one paragraph in English an one in Spanish, she can have the Styles set to automatically switch to the other Style when she hits the Enter key (Style for following paragraph).

That will activate Spanish language AutoCorrect.

It may be that on her old computer she had the option turned on to automatically detect language. This setting causes many users a number of problems so I don't recommend doing that, but it could be that is what she was doing. (Word is not very good at deciding which language is appropriate.)

Note, this is just a guess. I've not tried it.
