Default cut and paste from a document to Word

Hi, I have Microsoft Word 2013 and I have tried importing pdf files for editing but it does not work very well. I recently downloaded a free PDF converter which is called AbleWord which is a very basic PDF converter and does very well. My problem is that I opened the PDF file and cut & pasted the text into my Word document. Everything was fine except that the original text came from a document that was only 6.5" wide and I was importing into an 81/2 x 11" document. I thought that the paragraph would automatically spread out to fit the new larger space but it did not; so I tried selecting the text & clicked on clear formatting but to no avail. This was a relatively short paragraph so I manually edited the text to fill the larger space. You can see that this would be time consuming to the max if you had a lot of text. What am I doing wrong or do you think that there is a problem with the PDF converter? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

PDF files, emails, web pages, etc. often end up with unwanted lines breaks at the end of every line when imported into other programs; that just a reality of how the data sometimes get stored in the source. For a macro to clean up such text, see: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...html#post24698
