Default How to turn off moving spellcheck status

Is there any way to turn off the spellcheck status icon at the bottom of word? (the open book that has either a pencil or a cross on it). I find it distracting that it's constantly moving when I am typing.

Is there any way to get rid of this without turning off the automatic spellcheck? I have tried turning off the status bar all together but I need to still see the word count and page in the document.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
Right-click on the bottom of the screen and unselect the "Spelling and Grammer Check".

Give a try

Regards
Anu

Dear Anu,

Thanks for your reply. I want to keep the Spelling and Grammar check on - I just don't want to see the icon at the bottom of the page. Is there any way I can just remove it from view?

Thanks very much!

That is what the suggestion does. That is a list of items for the status bar - the bar at the bottom of the page.

At least in WinWord, you can right-click the status bar and choose, from the context menu, what you want and do not want displayed.
