You can simply choose the 'Never Register' option. Since Adobe's no longer producing updates for it, registration is of no consequence. That said, you can download the updates to bring it up to 8.3.1 from:

Did you uninstall your other Adobe Acrobat Pro version first?

Also, have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Start > Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change)?

Hey macropod.

No, no other versions of Acrobat. When I installed 8 I started with a clean slate by restoring a backup image I made before installing any versions of Acrobat. But for whatever it's worth, when I did install Acrobat 11 Pro yesterday it integrated with Word. That's why I think it's an issue with 8.

I don't think I want to run repair on Word. I have it exactly like I want it and repair I believe would demolish everything. I'll have to think long and hard before I do that. If I can't get 8 to work I'll probably just install 11 and set about figuring out how to use it.

I did run repair a couple of times on 8 this morning but it didn't fix the missing PDF Creator files.

No, it doesn't. A repair has absolutely no effect on settings, documents, etc.

Still I don't want to risk it if I can just install Acrobat 11. I originally thought there was something wrong or incompatible with 11, that's why I wanted to try another version. But now I don't think that's the case; it's probably the way I've formatted my Word documents or some settings in Acrobat I need to change. I experimented a little yesterday with shorter page lengths in Word and Acrobat didn't seem to have any trouble saving all the graphics. Granted it's not a whole document but it's a good sign. If worse comes to worse I can always just insert the missing graphics into a PDF with Acrobat. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that, but...
