Hi Meena, i have a similar issue some time ago, where i need to add a formula and update it automatically when i change the content.

The best way to do this its by using legacy fields, that way you wont need to use macros in your document.

You don't need legacy formfields for this - all you need do is use a suitable Style. See attached. The attached document uses the Heading4 Style, which has been formatted to generate a simple numbered list. Later on, I have cross-referenced both equations. If you swap them around or insert more content with the Heading4 Style, before either of them, the numbers will change immediately and the references will auto-update if you print or preview the document.
