![]() Hi In PowerPoint, I can select objects and do a 'save as picture', which I can then pull into Word or into various online documents. However, if I do a lot of PowerPoint drawings, then import them into Word and scale them, the text scales too, and they look 'thrown together' haphazardly. So, I stripped the text from the PowerPoint drawings and saved them 'textless', then pulled them into a Word canvas and added the text there. Looks good -- looks good -- no matter how I scale the drawings, the text remains as entered. However -- if I want to save those final "drawings with text", I can't. And the trouble is, I need to import those documents into a different online tool. What do you think -- am I stuck with creating my drawings in PowerPoint and trying to anticipate any scaling needs so the text is not a different size for every drawing? Thanks, Rob |

Well, if you consider that Word is a Word Processor and NOT a drawing software (even though it has basic drawing capabilities) my thoughts would be to employ PowerPoint or similar software (Visio?) if you have it available to you for your graphics/drawings. Anticipation of scaling needs is just part of the process.

If the image is a picture any text on it will scale with the picture. If you want to be able to control the text size, font, color, and maybe even the actual text, you are best to not save it as a picture. The drawing canvas will keep anything that is inserted onto it as a group. If you select the box that outlines the canvas and copy it you can paste it into PowerPoint. Do a regular paste, not paste as picture. You will have access to edit the image, text, etc.
If you really need it as a picture, you can select paste as picture into powerpoint and then right click on the picture and do a save image as. It is a round about way to get the picture, but it is the only way I have found to do it. |
