Opening Word error

Hi,



Can anyone help me please with, hopefully, a quick fix.

Every time I open Word on my laptop I can't and get the error message 'Sorry, something went wrong and Word was unable to start (5).

I've tried Googling this but can't find any recent fixes other than dating back to 2013.

The strange thing is that I have it installed on both my pc and laptop, and the pc is fine but the laptop isn't.

Any/all help appreciated to save me tearing all my hair out!

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?

I uninstalled then reinstalled it and, hopefully, it seems to have done the trick. Thanks!

I'm glad you got it fixed, but a Repair would have been simpler and fixes almost all of the problems that reinstalling fixes.
