Default Default new doc: Bullets and bulleted text are blue

Hello,

If I create a brand new (blank) Word doc, the main font color is black by default, but any bullets and any bulleted text are blue by default! I'm sure I need to do something with the Normal template to change this... but what do I do once I open the normal template? I'm hoping for step-by-step instructions. Thanks!

Jay

The implication of your problem is that you have a bulleted style applied to the bulleted text and that style is formatted in blue. The style is probably one of the built-in ListBullet styles.

You don't need to open the normal template to fix it, you should be able to do it from the document. Modify the style in question from your document to give the required appearance and then as you leave the style dialog, ensure that you check the box 'New documents based on this template' and OK out of the dialog.

This may have been the result of your picking a new theme or style set.

The instructions that Graham gave you will work in more than 99% of Word installations. If it does not work in yours it is likely that you have a poorly written Add-In and the quick way to handle it would be to open the normal template and make the change directly. Again, this should not be necessary. Normal Template in Microsoft Word - How to Find or Open the Normal Template

The long term fix would be to find the Add-In and disable or remove it. Add-Ins in Microsoft Word
