Default How can I individually control page numbers in Word?

I'm at the tail end of a doctoral dissertation, and it requires very specific formatting on the page numbers. I need to have no page numbers on the first 2 pages, then roman numerals for the next several, then go onto regular page numbers. I cannot seem to figure out how to make this happen in the regular page number insertion windows. Can anyone help with this?
I'm running Word 14.3.4 on a 2011 Mac running OSX 10.9.5
Thanks to anyone who can help!
