I'm having the same issue and this response is helpful. But I wonder if there is a separate forum just for MS Word for Mac.

I've learned (the hard way) that the Mac version of MS Word is substantially different (and less stable) than the Windows version. I'm trying to revise a manuscript for publication with LULU and am having lots of issues that I suspect may be because I'm on the Mac version.

If there is no forum dedicated to Ms Word 2011 for Mac, I'll go ahead and post here. (But actually I don't even see a button for new posts).
