I tried to find what causes my problem on google but couldnt find anything.

Basically when I had "Speak selected text" command on the ribbon, it is greyed out... I can't click it so I can't use it. Do you know what causes this please?

I am assuming you mean the "Speak" feature and you have added it to your Quick Access toolbar or to the Ribbon via a custom tab.

Do you have speakers installed and functioning on your computer?
Have you highlighted the word or sentence prior to clicking the Speak button?
