Word documents appear as symbols

Hello everyone!



My laptop has been running slowly recently and I have tried to put it in good condition. I tried some procedures such as scanning for viruses or recovering from a previous point but nothing helped. Then I tried to de-fragment the C drive and ( I am not sure if this caused the problem) but after that all my Word files appeared with an extension ".jpmgufb". When I try to open a file, it is only symbols. I have word files in drives E and F too, and it is the same for them.

The only good thing is that if I make a new file and save it as doc everything is okay with it.

Please, if someone has a solution for my problem, I will be very grateful because I don't want to lose all those documents.
