Pagewise sorting of index entries possible
Although this post is quite old, I would still like to make a comment on it.
It is a little-known fact that additional fields can be incorporated into an XE field. All you need are PAGE fields at the beginning of the XE fields so that an index is sorted by page number when output. I have described the procedure in detail in the journal The Indexer: 39(3)263–282, see Full list of issues - The Indexer
