See screen shots.
Office Button > Save As

The first screen is without clicking on Save As. The Adobe PDF is only there because I have Adobe Acrobat on the system, the second choice though (two down) is native to Word 2007. The second screen comes up after clicking on the Save As button directly and gives options for save type, one of which is pdf.

You can use 'pdf factory', 'jaw PDF' or another softwares to make your document PDF.

Office 2007 didn't come with the ability to save as PDF built-in. To get that functionality, you needed to install the 'Save as PDF or XPS' utility (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...ails.aspx?id=7). There is no need to install or use 3rd-party software.

I must have installed the utility then because in Safe mode I still get the choices.

The PDF functionality in Office 2007 was incorporated in the SP2 update. If Office is fully updated it will have this functionality without the plug-in that was available for earlier releases.
