Default Excel Cell Linked to Word Doc - Lock in Formatting?

Hi guys,

I have a couple cells in a word table linked to my excel worbook. The numbers link fine.

When I initially copy & pasted the cell, I formatted it to match my word formatting (even though I chose link to excel and match destination formatting).

Now when the numbers in excel change, the numbers change in the Word table, but the formatting get's thrown off. I have to manually go back and align center, unbold, font family, etc.
Can I somehow lock the Word doc formatting in place as to not have any manual interjection?

Thanks!
