I've been editing a really large word file with hundreds of foornotes and refferences. suddenly, TWO of the footnotes had the same number and the rest of footnotes and much of the text possitioning, after that became a mess. How can this be fixed? Thanks in advance for all help offered.

First, turn on display of non-printing formatting marks.
Showing non-printing formatting marks in Microsoft Word Then look for a Section mark preceding the problem. Then copy everything up to that section mark into a new document (not the section mark). Then copy additional sections without the section marks, into the new document. Do not copy the last paragraph mark in the document. You will have to fix some formatting I'm sure. I hope this helps. |
