![]() When I try to change the color of a font, nothing happens. I am selecting the text to change, then going to the mini bar and selecting a font color. The text does not change color. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Mike |

That suggests there may be a fault with your Office installation, or that the content you're trying to change is protected somehow.
Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Start > Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change)?

I will consider refreshing my installation. Thanks for this suggestion.
First I would like to pursue your other suggestion. Is it possible for a Word file to be protected? If so, how do I check for that? Mike |

Simple way to see if protection might be your problem is to create a new Word file and try to change the color of text in that file. If you can't in a new file, then the problem is in your installation. If you can in the new file but not the existing one, it is likely protected.
Click on the Protect Document button on the Review Tab or Developer Tab. |
