You are right, it is gone. There are no plans to bring it back.

This is called the browse object.

Ctrl+G is as close as it gets.

Once you have selected an object to search for in this dialog, the Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDn keys will take you to the previous and next object of that type. (They default to page.)
