Default Footer Issue

I cannot seem to discontinue footer using instructions provide in the attached file. Page break (at top and bottom) and deletion of footer on the target page makes all footers disappear from previous pages. The "Design"/ Link to Previous is greyed out. I want to have clean page below the two that have footers. What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks!!

If you want a blank header and/or footer in the middle of a document you have to add a section break before and after the page(s) in question. A page break won't work.

Depending on what you want to accomplish, other techniques may be more fruitful, though.

I discovered the "section break" option and have copied and pasted a similar "chapter". I have a new footer that repeats for this new chapter. That is good. But the next challenge is I want to reset the page numbering in the second footer so I have Chapter 2 Page 1,2,3... Currently Chapter 2 is picking up where Chapter 1 numbering left off (Page 28,29,30...). I have multiple "chapters" to include in this master document and I want each successive chapter section to start off with Page 1. Many thanks!!!

Click in the section where page numbering should restart and then click Insert tab | Page Number | Format Page Numbers. Select "Start at" and specify 1. Click OK.
